Laguna Coast Wilderness Park Hike

Laguna Beach - Parked at Big Bend staging area, off 133. This is the smaller less crowded parking lot. Started the hike up Big Bend Trail, which is very steep right out the gate. Hiked for 1.4 miles basically straight up the mountain. Took about 55 mins to get first top and then its a short downhill before you start climbing again, at which point you reach Boomer Ridge Trail junction. At that point you have hiked 1.7 miles for about 70 mins. At the junction you turn left ( towards the ocean) and continue hiking till you get to Laguna Ridge Trail and at that point you 2.7 miles and 1:40 min into the hike. At the junction you turn left and start walking down. Its a pretty slippery steep downhill with some large rocks you will have to get over or around. I won't want to do this hike after a rain as you will definitely be slipping.

Once you get back down to the 133 you still have about .5 miles back to the parking lot. That trail does not stay close to the road so you are still hiking and down hills before you get back to the parking lot. In total the hike was 4.5 miles and took a little under 3 hours and our pace was very leisurely, stopping to identify plants and wildlife. The elevation gain was about 1,100 ft
